Can we actually start the draft at 5 this year?

I would like to stay for the entire draft, however, I have to drive thru an episode of the Twilight Zone to get back to the highway. Maybe we could move the croquet start time up to ensure a 5 p.m. start. Either way, closer to 5 will be better for everyone. |

Fuck Off.
Keith keeps mentioning how I had 2 extra points from an earlier game and that is the real issue here. I am at fault for not trusting the scoring, and not noticing my D got credit for extra sacks. Does anyone really think I fucking noticed I got extra points from Week 7 and I was just hoping that nobody was gonna call my bluff. If it makes you feel better to displace the issue on me, then continue. However, the real issue here is the stats/scoring errors, and the fact that you continue to go back and try and weasel your way into the playoffs. Take some responsibility instead of posting these long discourses about the difficulties in implementing this rule. Get a stat/scoring system that actually works so it's not up to us to check stats in the first place. All the options on the site are great. However, when it's the last week in the regular season and you can't even find what your score is because your QB has 45 fumbles, your WR has 65 fumbles and your team has posted a -32 heading into the 4 pm games, something is fucking wrong. And it's not the 2 extra points my D had in Week 7. |

Rule proposal
I feel strongly enough about this situation that I will not be in the league next year if we don't pass this rule. I mentioned this in the past but I didn't follow up on it which is my fault. No excuse from me about not making the playoffs; if Keith has more points then he deserves to be in. The method that has taken place, and has also taken place in the past is complete bullshit. The rule proposal is this: by kickoff of the first game of Week 2, Week 1 scores for your team are final. Which means you have a week and a little less late in the season to check your stats and move forward. This way we won't have Keith and his little squirrel, Kent, going back and checking stats the day of the first playoff game. By the way, I didn't go back and check my stats for the season, only last week. I simply don't believe in it and I also had better things to do with my time. Good luck for those that made the playoffs, and think about whether or not you want me in the league next year. If not, fine, we'll move on. If so, then this is a new rule, plain and simple. Merry Christmas Bitches. |

Also, both you homogays know I'm better looking than any woman you've ever been with, so that's wishful thinking on your part. Nothing personal about leaving the draft early, it's just that this year is the 1st that I haven't gotten lost on my way home from the Twilight Zone. How bout those point spreads Ass. Thanks for the gift Koo. You''ll have a nice fruit cake waiting for you in December. And I didn''t think we were exchanging presents this year, I guess you changed your mind. Keith, will you add my last few picks to my roster when you get a chance, please. Also, can we have a rule this year that as soon as the next week''s games kickoff, whether it''s on Sunday, Saturday, or Thanksgiving, that the previous week''s results and scoring stand. So no more looking back 5 weeks and finding a mistake and changing the outcome of a game. That still gives everyone 6 days to check stats and make sure everything is good. Did you discuss this at the draft? What do you think everyone? |

And BTUFF, great win in our absolutely meaningless game last weekend. This is not the time of year you want to be scoring 92 unless you are still in the playoffs. I handed you the victory in the regular season and you know it. I would rather miss the playoffs every year and never start a cowboy or cowgirl (Kerry Collins). Hey Factor, how did Vick do for you in the playoffs? Everybody, get ready to start having to hear the Factor bitch about anything and everything until next season. Keith, how did that pickup of Collins work out for you? Merry Fucking Christmas everyone, it was a great season and I'll be back where I belong next year. |

Seriously, this is the best Blast team the Bunch have played in this league to date. Both teams are 5-3 and seperated by one point, the Bunch have 464 to the Blast 463. Even if Henry were playing, how could you start him over Bryson, the hottest player in the league right now. Go Lions. Anyways, good luck Billy. This might be the last time I can say this: I own you! Will Ricky Williams score 18 TDs this season? No. Will Ricky Williams score 10 TDS this season? No. Attention Norris Division: You can collectively remove the broom sticks from your asses now. You have been swept aside like the pretenders that you are. I wish I could play each of you again, but I'm in a real division, the Marshall Division, one in which I'm tied for second right now. Billy, One week does not a season make for either Brady or his Bunch. My young apprentice, you so soon forget last season when the Bunch started 0-3 and still came back to take your candy. Until you beat me I advise you to shut up and worry about your own squad. I'm looking forward to another late season collapse by the Blast, that's if you're even in the picture. As far as QBs and drafting go, my QB in our week 9 matchup will be Michael Vick, thank you very much. Settle down Billy, Dad will be upstairs to tuck you in in a minute buddy. Peace. Bawkins Bunch |

After speaking with the muses of football past, I was reminded of what limitations were placed on the owner in the original Jamal Lewis Rule. That new rule was met with much debate and eventual agreement, and we did so with some limitations that would protect us from any unforeseen abuse.
The original rule stated that the owner who was picking a new player from their pre-July 15 roster could not pick up the waived and injured player that season.
This exists so that any such future move would only be done in serious situations, and by doing so it would make the decision be an objective one as opposed to a subjective one. In other words, we don't have to discuss how many angels fit on the head of a pin or how many weeks of what kind of injury warrants this special consideration. Make the owner decide if it's serious enough to do.
However, while that is an excellent control device, it can be mitigated to be a bit fairer, and this is how it should be:
1) the waived player CAN be picked up by the team that dropped him, BUT that team cannot DRAFT the waived player. They can acquire the player only via trade or free agency.
2) if the waived player is officially out for the season, the team gets a special consideration and can elect to put that injured player on IR before the season begins, and then pick another player off of their pre-July 15 team. From that moment forward, that IR player is just like any other normal IR player.

Hey Kent, have you ever made the playoffs?

I haven't been hooked to the web fer awhile so that's why I haven't posted in a while, or responded to the PK/DF discussion. I see Billy's point that you never know what's gonna happen (I know those blind left hooks out of nowhere STING!). I also understand Jeremy's side. It looks like the changes will be made, and I have no problems. It does appear though that we have got to cement the rules (as our Commish states). It's a brilliant institution and we all love it like our baby. Let's now love it for what it is. WE all know the system well anyway by now and it's no suprise to anyone the dice you roll with kickers and DF's. It shakes up the level of intensity of the draft in a fun way. It's like leving the high-stakes poker table and stolling to the roulette wheel for a smoke. Anyway...
We can't wait to see yall soon and the 1st annual RFF Open sounds like a blast! I've been working on that Azinger chip Keith!
What am I gonna do without Melissa Stark! First pre-season MNF next Monday!

Each week everyone can say, "what if I played this guy" or "what if Harrison wouldn't have dropped that wide open TD on Sunday which would have given me a nicer cushion." But this league is a good one: very competitive, well run, bottom line fantasy football. The bottom line says I'm 8-5-1 and the Bashers are 8-6. I will not apologize for starting 0-3 and then going 8-2-1 down the stretch. I certainly will not apologize for telling Joe I was gonna kick his ass and then doing it to get my team rolling. I do think that the Factor got screwed, but maybe next year he will get all the breaks. Bashers: good luck this weekend and maybe we'll play this thing out. Keith: you did an unbelievable job this year, the site rocks. |

.5 for ties and wins is the tiebreaker for same points at end of year.
i have to disagree a bit on this, Keith. i think if you're comparing two teams, the first thing to look at is number of wins, then look at number of losses. for example, comparing a 7-7 team to a 7-6-1 team, the seven wins make them equal, but 6 losses is better than 7, thus the 7-6-1 team has the better record. comparing an 8-6 team to a 7-5-2 team, 8 wins is better and there is no need to compare any further. this is reminscent of some sports where you get 3 points for a win and 1 for a tie. clearly, a tie is better than a loss. but it's not worth half a win. this accentuates winning as the goal of the contest, instead of not losing. see what i mean?

Green is better simply because of Favre and the balance they have on offense.
Dillon is on the worst team in football, and good Ds will put 8 in the box and make the QB beat them. You and I know that Green is a more attractive option for the remainder of the season. And Harrison is still a stud. I know the TDs haven't been there, but I'll take 145 yards 8 days a week. One shitty MNF performance by the Colts O does not a season make, my young Keef. Good luck this weekend, you need it. Oh, and I'd be 7-0 this year if it was a leap year. |

If you get offended by my shit talking, then don't start it with me.
I have simply responded to people taking shots at me, and I will continue to do so. As for Jeremy, I'm so sorry that this site hasn't been the PG-13 experience you so yearn for. You should just be grateful that I handed you a win in week 1 and change your tampon. |

Idiot: I wasn't talking about your defense on the roster (GB).
I was making the point that you have been handed three wins and that you haven't earned shit. Your opponents haven't scored any points. And if you actually beat me head to head, then you have some shit to talk. But until then, keep flipping your Webster's trying to come up with "big" words like "inverse." Are you fucking kidding me? Come up with something better than that in your response, please! |

billy, your D is incredible, only 93 points against in three games. WOW
It's ok to be bitter, since you are the only winless Owner so far. Let it out, you'll feel better. Losing to both Ron and Jeremy has got to be humiliating! |

Let's finally start this season.
Billy: If I played you in each of the first two weeks, I'd be at 2-0 and you'd be o-2. Let's all realize the luck and lack thereof sometimes in fantasy football. Anyway, congrats on your lead in our division and I hope the bunch will start the season this Sunday. I'm sure the rest of the league is really feeling sorry for the biggest shit talker on draft night. Once I get it rolling, you'd better hope you got your shot early in the season. The Bunch is Back. |
