    Draft Day is Saturday, September 6
    Is this date cool with everyone? One thing to discuss is the starting time of the draft, as Syracuse is coming down to play UNC that afternoon, with something like a 12:30 kickoff? It isn't a TV game right now, so it shouldn't be a long game, and a suggestion is to have the draft start at 5 pm sharp.

    That's totally cool with me, but it will mean that it will probably run up to midnight, maybe a tad later. Personally, I can't imagine a better thing to do on a Saturday night, so any bellyaching about a quick draft or a late hour is always met with a baffling stare on my behalf. Or, at least a cross-eyed dizzy drunk stare.

    Draft Weekend festivities?
    I know that the 'Cuse/UNC game will take some folks' attention, but for the rest of us and for the other times, there's been some talk of additional fun. Specifically, anyone still interested in a golf outing on Saturday morning? Anyone up for a poker game on Friday night?

    I know I'm speaking for Zach, but we will probably be there Friday night, so make a tee time.

    UNC/CUSE at 1:30 so 5:30 or 6 is more realistic.

    Fine by me
    I hope all you college football fans are drunk by draft time so I can roXXor your azzez!!
    One rule I want to implement is a time limit on draft picks. Last year some owners (*cough* Bunch *cough*) took an inordinate amount of time making their selections. I am all for a full day of drafting fun, but there is no reason to drag this out by not being prepared. Just like the NFL draft, I think a reasonable amount of time should be alloted, and if you fail to pick by that time then you forfeit your selection. This is only fair to those of us that show up ready and willing and able. Furthermore, if someone ends up passed out in the bushes (*cough* Keith *cough*) they will simply have to fill in whatever spots they missed with whatever is left.

    This is FOOTBALL folks, not kiddie t-ball, ok? Either show up ready or suffer the consequences.

    draft day
    as much as i understand Kent's point, and agree that it'd be nice to penalize people taking a long time to pick (though i wouldn't point out Bachman alone; my guess is we all took more than a minute at some point), i really don't want to start setting rigid time limits. first of all, who's going to keep track of that? how will it work for teams drafting at the beginning of a break? won't they get more time effectively? blah blah blah. we're all friends here (almost), so a little not-so-subtle encouragement should do (i suggest "make your fuckin' pick asshole!"). my guess is the 5 minutes we'd save in time limit enforcement would be countered by 15 minutes of arguing about the rule after someone got picked over.

    why don't we just say the draft starts at 530pm, or as soon as Billy and Matt get back from the game and have a chance to relax for a couple minutes, talk shit to each other, etc. since we're starting later than usual, it'll be in anyone's interest who'd like to get home before sun-up that the draft go quickly, so make your picks in a timely manner.

    then again, Keith and i have previously discussed the possibility of making the draft two days long. maybe we could draft until 11pm on saturday, then people can get home, get some rest, then start again at 10am and finish the last couple hours, right up to kickoff. i think that'd be a ton of fun actually, and much prefer this to staying really late on saturday, or subjecting ourselves to rigid time limits. then again, that may mess with people's work or travel schedules, so it may be out. just throwing it out there.

    let the draft go late
    I used to object to the late issue because I had to work at 615 am but I want to watch the UNC victory myself and may go. Go Heels, go to hell bunch
