Ragnarok Ownership Changes

Unfortunately but not necessarily unexpectedly, we have some change(s) in the ownership of some Ragnarok franchise(s). Ron has decided that his heart wasn't really in it, and sadly one of the old school has stepped aside. Alison is still unknown, but a multitude of commucations attempts have come up empty; it's theorized that she may be on one of her usual summertime climbing trips. However, based on comments by Alison to a variety of people, it's also widely theorized that she is not interested in going into a third season.
Thus, here is how we stand... We moved forward on the presumption that Alison will be following through on her earlier statements, and that there would be two openings to fill. If Alison communicates her desire to stay in the league before a week after the dealine passes, then she stays. If we don't hear from her, then we'll move forward.
Two new owners were selected, one who proved himself in the Midgard league and one who has been interested in joining us for a couple of years and is vouched for by the statesman Jeremy.
Jeremy and I randomly determined the team lottery (who gets which team), and it resulted in Jim Matheson taking over the Carrboro Dreamcrushers. Jim proved his mettle and his fantasy football passion with his participation in the Midgard 2003 league, our AAA farm league. Jim lives in Raleigh and is the type of guy who'll get along fabulously with Matt. Besides, anyone who is a Bengals fan is always good to laugh at.
So while that change is official, the other change in ownership will still be left for Alison to act upon. Again assuming that she is not interested in playing this year, then Jeremy's friend Shaun will take over. He lives in Durham and is a commissioner of another fantasy football league, and has the right stuff for our elite group.
There is no doubt in my mind that these guys will continue the standard of excellence that really sets our league apart from the commoners. |
