Draft Weekend, a gift from my favorite cloud being: the FSM

ok, gents, let's start thinking about some elements of the Draft Weekend Master Plan...
first off: do we want to get a keg? seems like the last two years we haven't killed the keg, so it seems natural that we should have a response of either 1) not getting a keg, or 2) start drinking like pillaging vikings again.
secondly: managing the draft... once again we'll have an online draft room and a projector that will display the draft board for the room to see (bigger this year). richard barnett (a different richard than last year) has offered his services, and being that he'll have fun doing it and he is a football fan who many of the owners already know, this sounds good to me.
but... what about the first one or two rounds? i like the idea of using a podium type of element, and having each owner come up and formally announce their pick.
friday night poker game: exclusive $20 buyin NL HoldEm tourney. starts at 9pm.
saturday morning golf: zach, joe, and/or billy and/or anyone else. kent?
saturday plinko croquet, 3pm sharp: $10 buyin, winner take all
saturday league reorganization, 5pm
saturday draft 1st overall pick, after the reorganization
sunday 1pm: marvel at the Skullsplitters roster

Maybe it's time to go with cases instead of a keg.
The podium would be very funny. I'm all for it.
I'm in for poker for sure. Golf is intriguing, but i don't have clubs. I know Sean has golfing interest as well and actually has clubs.
If we're going to be serious about penalizing people who leave early, we should be able to get the draft started on time. I'm looking at you, croquet organizer...
Can't wait to see everybody. 2 weeks and counting. Is everyone planning to be there this year? I know the Thunder always has bigger things to worry about, so it's cool if he can't come (though you'll be missed). But are we losing anyone to a wedding or some nonsense? |

I'm not sure yet if I'll be down on Friday - if I so, it won't be until late at night (11 or midnight).
Cases is fine by me - it gives the option of having a variety of beers.
I haven't touched a club in years, so I won't be playing golf. |

cases of beer and/or a mixed drink bar sounds good to me - do we want to have a drink ninja, or just allow for drink breaks?
and yes, the Thunder will be making the trip from MN and will be here for the poker game. |

Can we actually start the draft at 5 this year?

| I would like to stay for the entire draft, however, I have to drive thru an episode of the Twilight Zone to get back to the highway. Maybe we could move the croquet start time up to ensure a 5 p.m. start. Either way, closer to 5 will be better for everyone. |

I am going to try and bring a bunch of wings again this year to munch on. I love the podium idea, also.
As for golf, I don't plan to be in any condition that morning for such nonsense. A drink ninja would be cool, but isn't really necessary. I agree that the croquet game should start earlier so that we can get the draft going on time.
I am of course going to dominate the Friday poker game...so bring lots of money! |

looks like we're all set - billy found us a podium, woot!
just a little addendum: for those who wish to watch college football on saturday after 5pm (such as the UNC game), please set up your tivo/vcr to record any such game(s). most of the owners do not want to have a tv on in the room while we are drafting, and i can understand and tend to agree with that sentiment.
and for anyone who forgets to do so, i will attempt to record it onto a dvd and someone can have that disc to take home and watch it (sans commercials or draft distractions). |
