Amazingly, this 1 point changed the game from a tie to a loss for the Factor. OUCH!

Not to cause trouble for anyone (Erik), but I see he has reactivated Brian Finneran (last week) and is playing him this week. Now, when I checked the Free Agency rules, it says if any Free Agent is activated, they must be cut first to allow any opponents to bid on them. The significance is this: I have been sitting on Jerry Porter as active ever since the first game in fear that had I placed him on IR I would have to buy him back (and yes, it would have made a difference in my Free Agent strategy had I thought it was allowed to keep rather than cut). If that was incorrect, so be it: Porter, Pennington, and Bennett will all be back within 3 weeks and I only have 1 megabuck so they will remain active anyway. But I simply want a clarification of the rule.

This IR rule has been in place for a few years, so if The Finn (did you know he's 6'5") was actually started, it is an illegal start and will be nullified. The Finn would need to be waived and reacquired through Free Agency.
IR exists solely to serve as a mechanism for teams to keep ahold of potential franchise-caliber players for use in the following season, and not for a buffer slot to be used to rotate players in and out. |
