My survivor pick this weekend is the Blast over the n00b. Prove me wrong, newbie. Prove me wrong. |

Survivor Pick

Maulers over Thunder. As much as I love picking Thunder to lose, it hurts my heart to pick Maulers to win. |

You're lucky I won't pick within The Division. |

Screw all that

I'm picking my team to win this week.
btw, Is there any rule about picking against yourself? I don't know that anyone would really be willing to sacrifice a week's matchup just for the survivor pool, but it is a possibility. |

If it goes that far

Survivor Pool Results - It Ain't Pretty
|
|
|
|
I counted 7 owners who made picks in the first ever Ragnarok survivor pool. And by my count, only 3 owners remain after the first week!!! Here's a summary:
BASS pick Maulers - Result: ADVANCE SYNDROME pick Factor - Result: OUT! DYNASTY pick Syndrome - Result: ADVANCE WRMC pick themselves - Result: OUT! And a loss! (ouch) SPLITTERS pick Syndrome - Result: ADVANCE THUNDER pick Blast - Result: OUT! GAMBLERS pick Blast - Result: OUT! The Rush never put in a pick, so their money will be refunded.
So only the Bass, Dynasty, and Splitters remain. Good luck, jerks. I'll keep updating this contest until we have a winner, probably next week.

Since I'll be traveling this weekend, might as well get this out of the way before I forget:
Skullsplitters over the Blast. Mark it down! |

Survivor pick

I would like to take the Splitters because of their commitment to the Bills. I refuse to take the Patriot loving Dynasty, so I will pick the Medical Center to win. |

Survivor Pool Week 2- What Do We Do Now?
|
|
|
|
Sean and Joe both picked incorrectly, and Keith picked 'You'll See', which should be cause for an immediate disqualification due to smugness. So what do we do now? Some options:
A. The three finalists split the money B. The three finalists pick again this week to determine a champ C. No one wins, and everybody gets their money back D. No one wins, and everybody rolls their money over into Survivor Pool #2 E. Keith actually picked the game correctly and can prove it, making him the winner
Thoughts? |

E. is the answer

read 'em and weep, i picked the Koo Dynasty to beat the Thunder tattoo. sorry, eric.
the "you'll see" display was supposed to automatically reveal itself and send a trash talking email after the pick deadline passed at 1pm on sunday (we can set this deadline per pool), but i wasn't able to test it before leaving town on sunday. i put in this ability for teams to not reveal their picks in case they didn't want to tip their hand, and was only utilizing that option myself in order to test the feature.
upon my return home i also had to fix the pool processing scrpt, and i think that's solid going forward. the first implementation of anything can be this way, because my extensive staff of QA testers just eats their hamster pellets and they really suck at testing. but i think the pool feature is in good shape now.
anyways, that does leave a larger question: how to handle the scenario where all remaining pickers fail in the same week? splitting the booty seems anticlimactic. should we just continue the pool into the next week? or we could also submit a Total Points Scored or a Margin of Victory with each submitted pick.
what's the best way to handle that scenario?
let's start another pool, woot! |

Congrats on Surviving, Keith! On to Pool #2?
|
|
|
|
We should all be ashamed of not taking Koo. Good pick, Keith. Though I'm not loving the "you'll see" function. Half the fun is seeing who people pick against. I think it could the cowboys of Survivor pool functions - some people use it, other people are better than those people.
So, should we start up Survivor Pool #2? Can we get all 12 people in? We don't need to do it for money, but I am willing to stay on as treasurer if we want to do $5 again. |

Anyone want to bet Keith just added another trophy beside his name for winning the survivor pool? |
