| I put in bids on Correll Buckhalter and Mario Manningham. Neither of them ended up getting picked up by anybody and the bids are still showing in my free agency page. |

| Do all RB's get rushing and receiveing yards? I thought is was only if you designated them mixed yardage? It's just that Gore wasn't labeled "mixed." Please advise.... |

even passing yardage, too.
the reason for the silly Mixed Yardage is because our antiquated 1997-based caveman scoring system was so regressive (due to the minimum thresholds) that we were seeing balanced RB's getting screwed.
i've got it written down to propose that we get rid of M.Y. after this season. it is a pain to play with as well as administer, and more importantly it is probably moot due to the changes we've recently made to the yardage charts. in the past two seasons we have lowered the minimum yardage thresholds for scoring points, and this effectively addresses the previous limitations of our system.
for example, with our new improved yardage scoring, a RB who gets 35 yards rushing and 35 yards receiving (70 total) would earn 3 fantasy points. with that same RB designed as Mixed Yardage, they only receive 2 pts. back in the day, they would have only gotten 1 pt if they were not M.Y.; but with the updated system in place, M.Y. is really a negative and actually kind of senseless.
but for now, though, it's officially there. that is, unless everyone just wants to get rid of it going forward? i'd like to make that motion... let's have a mercy killing and put it into history. |
