REQUIRED: Draft Weekend Roll Call

Joe has obtained the final bill for the rental (which he also paid in full), and so with two weeks to go it is time for everyone to chime in and be specific about what nights they will be staying at the palace.
We must have this information so that an accurate division of the bill can be performed. If people are namby-pamby milquetoasts, then it screws up the formula for everyone and somebody is going to get screwed. So now is the time man the F up and put your name down for what nights you are going to be there, and then commit to it.
Basically, please post on the forum if you will be there Friday night, Saturday night, or Both nights.
In addition, I will be staying at the palace on Thursday night and am covering that night myself. If anyone wants to join me, there is no official additional cost but any contributions towards Thursday's rent are accepted. Currently, the Maulers will also be there on Thursday, and the more the merrier.
This also means that the palace will be open at 4pm on Thursday, and anyone can show up anytime (including early on Friday, rather than waiting for a 4pm Friday opening). |

I have Conflicts. I most likely won't be staying Friday, if I can even get there. Kelly is the assistant principal at her first high school, and its her first home football game. Hmmm. Work really does trump fantasy after all...We don't have family here and Lucy can't roam the game alone, and she ain't coming the house. I'll try and work something out. Definitely coming on Saturday. Meh. Forgot we were going to do first few rounds. I have tech to be there live if we're drafting on the internets. Otherwise, I guess I might be playing "draft while not actually in the room" card, which I've never played in 12 years. Ahem.
Also, laying floor in entire house. Carpet is pulled. Will miss Thursday. Bum city.

itsa bummer, obviously. a wee bit ironic, too, because we're all coming to the mountains to make it easier for the appalachian boys and it turns out one can't join us. Zach if you can manage to find child care that would be super and if not, well you are super anyways.
i feel your pain on the flooring project. i am nearly finished with the same project here in elfland, where i had to empty the entire house and paint it at the same time (and do it totally by myself). it was grueling to say the least, but the floor guys came here this week and put in the bamboo flooring everywhere and also retiled the kitchen floor. we have gotten rid of all of our carpet in the entire house. it feels like we moved to a new home.
ok, back to business... if you end up being unable to make it to the draft house, then we'll need to work on some video conferencing. the original plan was to just use Skype in order to video call the minnesota boys, but if we have more than a 2-way video call then i think Skype may require a "pro" type of license? does anyone have experience with 3+ -way video calling? can someone run with finding a solution?
i'll be bringing my usb hi-def video camera for the draft house.
dang, guys, we are just 6 days away!

Draft Weekend

I will be there on Friday mid-morning for the weekend. My plan is to go to the reality office and get the keys Thursday afternoon, get the house open, catch up with Keith and Kent, kick both in the nuts, hand over the keys to achy balls Mickelson, and return Friday morning. I would love to stay Thursday night, but wifey and kids have plans before I blow them off for the greatest weekend of the year.

anybody have one? if not, i may be able to dig one up but it might be that same one we all had fun with at my house back in 2007. |

Eric and David, what is your plan for the draft? Will you be together on both Friday night and Saturday (where we just need 1 video feed from Minnesota), or will you be separated at any point (where we need to plan for 2 video feeds)?
If we only need a 1-to-1 video conference for the duration of the draft, we can just use Skype. And if so, do either of you MN guys have a web cam and Skype? |

i'm bringing a simple tower PC to run the draft board and hook up the HD webcam for Skype. it also has primitive wifi capability.
last call for the bus: Kent and I are leaving chapel hill at 11am on thursday if anyone wanted a ride at that time.
Joe, we'll see you when you arrive thursday afternoon. we'll probably be there early and will be drinking on the porch, enjoying that mountain air. and i'll have my nut cup on. |
