  • 1) The draft:
    A) Typically Saturday evening one week before labor day weekend.
    B) I (Eric) need confirmation of your Keepers and payment before the draft (currently $70.)
    C) Required draft by position: 3 Quarterbacks, 4 Running backs, 5 Wide receivers, 2 Tight ends, 2 Place kickers, 2 Defenses , & 1 Coaches choice(anything you like.)
    D) It is a snake style draft. The following years draft order is determined by adding seven to the current team, then, subtracting 12 from any team over 12.
    E) It will be an 18 round draft. Your franchise player is not included in this and is not counted as a round.

    2) How does my team score?:
    A) Each player recives points as dictated on this site.
    B) 1 Quarterback, (1 additional QB from same team as first QB is optional.) 2 Running backs. 3 Wide receivers. 1 tight end. 1 Place kicker. 1 Defense. Tight End replacement option (AKA flex player):
*You may replace one RB or WR with a second TE.

3)Free agents: Any player not drafted may be picked up through free agency. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO AQUIRE PLAYERS OFF OF THE FREE AGENT POOL. This will be done through a sealed auction. At the beginning of the season each coach will be given 100 free agent points. Whenever a coach loses a game they gain 10 pts., 5 for each team if they tie. You may not bid on a player if there are no points in your pool. If you win the auction you must take the player. All players must remain on a team for al least two weeks. The “silent” auction will be opened a 8:00 on each Wednesday. You must also put in a drop list with your free agent pick-ups! PS if high points tie nobody gets them and you may bid again next week.
Free agent bids will only be accepted from teams with legal roster limits. If for any reason they have an illegal roster there bids will not be accepted. Examples of this would be a Tuesday trade putting you over the limit or taking a player off of IR.

4)Trading players: Any player may be traded for any other, two players for one, three team trades, trades including free agent points, or even trading drafting spots.
All trade will be looked at for “unfairness.” If anything is deemed unfair the trade is void. An example of this could be a coach trading a great player away because he has no chance of winning the season and wants his friend to win. You may also trade away stuff from next year but payment for next year must be made! ie. Aaron could trade away ten years of first round picks but he would have to pay the $700 for ten years of dues!

5)Keeper league?: Every team will be given the opportunity to retain any one player for the next season. This player will be known as the franchise player for your team. This player will be chosen one week before the draft. Any Franchise player may, only be retained by that team for 3 years. If your franchise player becomes injured during the pre-season you will be allowed to re-choose a player from your roster. This is a flexable rule but please use the guide lines of 2006: Brad retained Clint Portis (sholder injury) & Shaun re-chose Larry Fitz as Dominic Davis was out for the year. Do not try to gain a new franchise player because you change your mind and your player has a mild injury. Please see fairness rule if ther are any questions.

6)What if my player gets hurt?: Each team will be given one injured reserve slot. Any player hurt can be put in this slot. He can’t be started by your team or picked up by any other team. In addition you may pick up another player. If your player recovers you still must drop someone. If an IR player gains any points while on IR he is released into free agency. A pre draft franchise player may be put on IR but will not be allowed to let you enter the mulligan draft round. He may be dropped as could an injured or non playing rookie. This would allow entrance into the mulligan round.

7)Free agents will be between weeks 0 and 12. Trades will be between the time franchise players are chosen until week 12.

8)Illegal rosters: If you have too many players on your team rosters you will lose that weeks game. If your IR player gains any points he will be released into free agency. You will still play your game in this case. If you have too many starters of any position the highest scoring player will be benched.

9)Note on trades: If you trade a player away you may not trade back for him for two weeks. Any trade backs will be looked at with scruteny. Teams will no longer be required to retain players for two weeks and drafted rookies may be traded and retained next year with the rookie rule. Still, only one rookie may be retained.

10)The mulligan round: If, after the draft, an owner wants to drop a player he may do this and an additional 20th round will be drafted. This will be a continuation of the regular draft and no random order drawing will be made. He/She must still abide by the draft position limits.

11)What if I fail to get my franchise player in on time? You will be required to buy and drink a "shot" of the loser bowl champions choosing. (if he is the one drinking, the champion decides.) If you don’t like it you may drop him for the “I don’t want this guy” draft between rounds 2 & 3. This is your penalty for not choosing. If for any reason an owner is chosen after the deadline they will be given a day or two to choose a franchise player.

12)Fairness rule: If at any time it seems like a rule or non rule is being exploited and you are trying to take advantage of it or seem to be taking advantage you should be prepared for the worst. I am trying to make this fair for all. In this case mid season rule changes may occur. Other problems may also need mid season rule changes but it seems like most major problems have been eliminated. Matt is gone.

13)Roster limits after the draft: After the draft you may trade anything you like and rosters are no longer controlled.

14)Trades during the draft: Please make these private with the trades being agreed a to during the draft but occurring afterwards. This is to keep the draft moving with as few problems as possible. Note: this could make drafting tricky because you must still retain drafted player restrictions. If the trade is quick and decisive, please, do make the trade, we just don't want 20 minutes of haggleing.

15)Please, at the draft: Be prepared and on time. Do not bring up rules issues as this is draft day and should have been brought up in the summer or previous season. If there is a major rules problem, ask me personally and if needed I will address to everyone. There is no need to cause a big stink at this time. The draft takes long enough without this going on. Thanks.

16)Your Ideas! If you have any ideas please let me know.

    17) Please look at the F.A. points and the date it was updated. I did forget on time last year but all the info is posted to figure it out

    18) Financials: Pay in: $70 per person x 12 teams = $840.
    A) -$70 for the loser Bowl champion= $770
    B) -$140 for $35 per team winning division = $630
    C) -$210 for $35 per team making the play-offs = $420
    D) -$140 for $35 per team making 2nd round = $280
    E) - $140 for $70 per teams making Superbowl = $140
    F) -$140 for Superbowl winner. = $0.00
    G) Next year we may have a secretary. This would come out of the prize pool.

    19) Please read the rules and let me know if I forgot anything. Thanks again..

This is a copy and paste, I will review this at a later date...... I'm thinking 2035, but maybe sooner!
