IR Flaws

I think that we as a group had a couple of oversights with our IR system. These should be able to be corrected without much effect, if any... What was missed was that 1) Obviously, the rules as strictly interpreted cannot work, as it requires any IR player to be put on waivers and be rebid upon - if that's really the case, what's the point of IR? Jeepers, what were we thinking, hehe? 2) Unless there are regulatory measures, a player can go onto IR for any reason and stay there for any length, meaning that a team could get a prospect QB, for example, and just keep him on IR for a few years until he became a performer. Clearly, that goes against the spirit and intent of the IR rule.
So, it's proposed that we 1) Install regulatory measures for assigning and maintaining IR status, and 2) don't require a waive of the player when they come off of IR.
Players should be declared as OUT at the time that they are put on IR. If at any point in the future their status becomes Questionable (50% in the NFL), they have to become active players again (on their same roster, no waiving of the player). By the time of kickoff of the first game of that week, their team would have to make room in their roster for that ex-IR player. |

Keith- that sounds good to me. I cut Wells so that I could put Griffin back on my active roster. |
