NFL Draft Day Zoom Pool Rules.

Hey all, hope everyone is doing good. I was thinking some light-hearted gambling, smack talkin', and a Zoom get together may help everyone move forward. The first step in moving forward is the first step, so, I hope we get a good turnout. Now for the rules.
The pool will be seven dollars, making the pool $77, if all are in. Winner take all! The numbers we need are how many Qb's, Rb's, and Wr's are drafted in the first round (three numbers.) If you are correct you get zero and each step away gets you one point. Lowest score wins. You will also choose what pick the last Qb and WR is taken in the first round (two numbers) without going over. These will be the 1st and 2nd tie breakers. After that it will be a tie. I know that you are a stubborn Luddite holdout when it comes to LeagueSafe, but you could do the prize payout directly to Ragnarok's LeagueSafe and that would pay for the winner's dues. That would eliminate some steps and also be a direct straight-up prize for me the winner. |

It seems that Zoom has gotten rid of their monthly plan, but there may be better options out there regardless. I recently came across the Brave browser and am very impressed so far. It's legitimately a privacy browser that originates from a fork of the Chrome codebase, but it stripped out all of the bloat caused by the invasive tracking and extra CPU usage and resulting increased internet bandwidth. You'll be surprised by how much data is sent back and forth to aggressively track your activities (it has a neat dashboard that keeps a running comparative summary).
Anyways, Brave has built in and free video conferencing. It doesn't require a separate app to install (like Zoom does). The only thing needed is the Brave browser. If you want more than 4 people in the meeting, it does take a Premium plan but that has a free 30 day trial (and is $7/month after that). So if we want, we could all get the Brave browser and Eric the MC can start his free 30 day trial and orchestrate the rest.
It's just a thought. But this is Eric's show. |

We'll be using a free Zoom account and will simply reset the meeting every 40 minutes.
We'll start the Zoom meeting at 7:45pm Eastern time. The link will be sent out either Wednesday or Thursday.
Submit your picks to the fucking lockbox by Thursday night! You can even submit multiple revised picks, with only the latest version being relevant. Picks can be submitted up until the first pick in the NFL Draft is selected. And don't forget, the winner of this pool gets their Ragnarok 2022 dues paid up! |
