I submitted my National Board Renewal today! I've been Board Certified since 2010. It's the highest recognition in teaching (even a Masters), and after 50 pages of commentary, student work, and a 10 minute video of my teaching...It's done. It's a 12% raise versus a 3% raise with a Masters. I'll find out in December, if our world is still operating on the same guidelines as they are now!
On a more somber note, I hope everyone is well, and is doing anything that helps bring understanding to our spiraling society. Last weekend felt like the 60's as we hoped a rocket would make it to space, protests and riots in the streets, and as we mourn (or celebrate!) the loss of a presidential leader.
I still feel hopeful for some kind of season. But at this point, I'll take almost anything. I might even watch (gasp) baseball. Definitely looking forward to a short compact NBA season with play-in games for the playoffs. I dig a 8-10 game regular season!
