I overheard Billy say it last night, Defenses are irrelevant, and I'm pretty sure I also heard somebody say they are a crapshoot.
Thursday night The number one raked D, had a statistical great game. The Bears held the Packers for to 10 points and racked up 5 sacks. The NFL average is 2.5 they doubled that mark, what did they get for their effort? 8 points! big whoop, 8 points does not reflect just how dominate the Bears really played Thursday. What isn't reflected in our scoring system are the overlooked stats but just as important. In base ball terms these are the triples not the homers. These are the other reason the Bears' D ruled. They only surrendered to the Packers a total of 250 total offensive yards. Also they had five passes defended, and nine tackles for loss.
Just sayin' |
