Draft Primer

I am really excited and honored by everyone's participation in the inaugural season of this new league. Thanks to all for joining!
We are just a couple of days away from the actual draft, and I thought it would be helpful to provide some information about the website that we will use for our drafting.
First, I should probably mention that CustomizedDrafts.com is a website that I built by myself. It's brand new. Like, really new. It's possible that there may be a slight bump in the road at some point, but rest assured that there is nothing to fear because we are in complete control of our own destiny. I'm anticipating that an occasional lack of polish will be the most unpleasant thing we'll experience.
Here is a Quick Start guide to getting set up for the 8bit draft:
1. Go to www.customizeddrafts.com and create an account (you can log in with Google, Twitter, or Facebook, too).
2. Once logged in, go to My Rankings and create a new rankings list. Pre-populate it using the 0.5 PPR scoring system. You'll be able to load this into the draft room when we do the draft.
3. Tinker with your rankings list, prepping it for our draft. Once in any draft room, you can load a copy of your rankings into the room and use it as desired.
4. Either send a friend request to me, or accept my friend request. This will allow us to join the same draft room. My username is "Moltar".
5. Once we are Friends, I'll add you to the draft room and you'll see it in the My Drafts list. Trevor, Gail, and Jax, you all should be able to access our official draft room now.
If you want to play with the website before our draft, you can mock draft our league to your heart's content. Just create a new league, configure it like 8bit, and then launch as many mock drafts as you wish. You can invite friends to mock with you, too, or just keep it all top secret as you simulate drafting our league over and over.

We are just a few short hours away from lighting this candle! Holy shitballs, the football season is HERE!
NICE JOB IN GETTING SIGNED UP FOR THE DRAFT, EVERYONE! Please come early and make sure that you can load the draft room, load your rankings list (if you have one), etc. Maybe leave a little chat if you feel like it...

Here are some additional tidbits of information regarding tonight's draft:
* Again, this is the inaugural voyage of what will hopefully become an awesome website once the rest of the bells and whistles are installed and the spit and polish is applied. That being said, it should be a really nice sailing experience tonight.
* If we do run into any waves, don't worry! All is completely controllable just like if we were all in person and doing a draft at someone's house. Simply post something into the chat window and we can make any adjustments as needed.
* If something catastrophic happens and you cannot connect to the internet, etc., feel free to call my land line at (919) 563-1715 (this is Keith). We'll be happy to pause the draft until everything resolves.
* We are going with a majority preference of a 3 MINUTE CLOCK tonight. Yes, I know that may freak some people out and for that I am sorry but I would also like to remind everyone that this does not mean that every pick will take this long. I am STRONGLY encouraging everyone to have their picks ready and to keep things moving at a quick pace. But occasionally we all may need an extra moment or two and this is important in order for us in order to have the most competitive league possible. And if anyone routinely takes a long time for their picks, we should all tar and feather them in the chat window.
And that's about it! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them here in the forum or in the draft room's chat (keeping in mind that chat only shows recent history).
