2017 Tiki House rules

Tiki House Rules
The second part of is house rules. Here are some highlights of the rules.
2. Smoking is prohibited inside the house. Please smoke outdoors at all times and
dispose of butts properly.
7. Parking: Vehicles are to be parked in the gravel driveway of the home. Parking on the
gravel access road (Breezewood Lane) is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars
are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of
the vehicle owner.
8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. Towels and linens can be
provided with an extra charge.
11. Pool: GLASS IS PROHIBITED IN POOL AREA FOR SAFETY REASONS. NO DIVING IS ALLOWED!
15. Dishes: The Guest is responsible for cleaning any dinnerware, cookware, and utensils
used during the stay before leaving the property.
17. Heating/Cooling: The property is equipped with a geothermal heat pump. Please be
considerate of cooling usage in the house. Ceiling fans are available in all rooms and are
a great option for air circulation. Leaving doors open is discouraged as it puts an
unnecessary heavy load on the system. The Homeowner prefers that the temperature
controls not go below 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature controls are located in the
Homeowner’s suite, the upstairs living area, and the downstairs living area.

also, i now have three PS4 controllers but it would be great if we could rustle up a fourth... anyone have a PS4 controller they can bring?

The ice machine is still working.
There is a new grill for us to use. I don't think there was one last year.
The outdoor speakers (which I don't think we used) aren't working. |

I think we did use the speakers. For the TV that was downstairs. Bluetooth speakers anyone? I don't. Also, not sure if it changes anything, but Lucy plays my sax and she has class this year on Fridays so I'm not about to bogart that from my only child. I do have a killer acoustic guitar, but I haven't learned it yet. But if anyone wants to take it for a spin, I'm happy to bring it.
I'll actually be in the pool one week from right now!

I read the fine print so I'll copy it here:
18. The TENANTS agree to replace, at their own expense, or to reimburse the LANDLORD/OWNER for all losses, breakage or damage that occur to screen doors during their stay, including losses, breakage or damage resulting from Dick Moves that may exceed the damage deposit. |

i also wanted to remind everyone that you don't need to bring bottled water. that house has a reverse osmosis system as well as an ultraviolet filter. no need to bring water or ice. nice!
i'm bringing:
* homemade local pork breakfast sausage
* 5 local boneless pork loins for grilling (for Thursday)
* a batch of homemade smoked and stuffed and bacon wrapped jalepenos
* homemade baba ganoush and nan bread
* homegrown pickles
* a loaf of bread
* various sliced cheeses
* 1 dozen local eggs
* pancake mix
* maple syrup
* ground coffee
* half gallon each of orange juice, peach juice, and tropical blend
* half gallon organic whole milk
* one whole duck that i butchered (for Sunday)
* misc liquor, including watermelon infused vodka
* one fuck ton of beer |

| I can't remember if this house had the same "bring your own toilet paper" policy. But I can supply paper products of all sorts, and will bring some fruit as well, maybe bananas and strawberries. And I'm also happy to play designated 'we ran out of stuff and someone needs to go to Food Lion' guy as well. |

With the "no glass by the pool" rule, a few more probably wouldn't hurt.
My guess is plenty of people will bring toilet paper (I know I will). |

i just spoke with Tiki Dave

he's the owner of the Tiki House. he said that they are cleaning the house today, and therefore we could show up on Thursday anytime after 11am (we don't have to wait until mid afternoon)!
i'm going to aim for an arrival sometime between 11am-12pm.
also, i found out that there is no coffee grinder at the house. need to grind it before bringing it. |
