that trade needs to be explained
if you cancel out the K's and HC's, it is a 7-for-7 player trade. of the seven players offered by the Wolverines, three are injured and aren't even seeing the field.

how do those injured players have any value in the trade? this needs explanation.

    Sure....
    1. Both of our teams were sucking.
    2. He and ranked each of the positions based upon what we both think will happen the rest of the season (assumed the injured players would return):

    QB 1 Philip Rivers
    QB 2 Drew Brees
    QB 3 Matthew Stafford
    QB 4 Carson Palmer

    RB 1 Alfred Morris
    RB 2 Reggie Bush
    RB 3 Doug Martin
    RB 4 Mark Ingram
    RB 5 Lamar Miller
    RB 6 DeAngelo Williams
    RB 7 Toby Gerhart
    RB 8 Roy Helu
    RB 9 Lorenzo Taliaferro ®

    WR 1 DeSean Jackson
    WR 2 Jeremy Maclin
    WR 3 Andre Johnson
    WR 4 Larry Fitzgerald
    WR 5 Emmanuel Sanders
    WR 6 Brandon LaFell
    WR 7 Malcom Floyd
    WR 8 Michael Crabtree
    WR 9 Wes Welker
    WR 10 Greg Jennings
    WR 11 Harry Douglas

    TE 1 Vernon Davis
    TE 2 Dwayne Allen
    TE 3 Kyle Rudolph
    TE 4 Coby Fleener

    DF/ST 1 Denver Broncos
    DF/ST 2 Seattle Seahawks
    DF/ST 3 Baltimore Ravens
    DF/ST 4 Green Bay Packers

    K 1 Stephen Gostkowski
    K 2 Adam Vinatieri
    K 3 Robbie Gould
    K 4 Mike Nugent

    HC 1 Pete Carroll
    HC 2 Marvin Lewis

    3. Then he and I did a snake draft to divide up our players to try to even out our point production for the rest of the season to try to get us back to competitive. The trade was the result of the that draft. (WE did have to the make the second trade Ingram and Martin to allow for the injuries so Shawn had starters this week...And to make allowances for WR LaFell because he already played this week.)

We both find this a fair trade and method for the bottom two teams to make to try to save our seasons.

    with the trade...
I like the trade also. iv had to sign 6 to 8 players from free agent market do to injuries. My WR's were well below avg. and Steve's RB were all hurt. thought it was a fair trade to help both of are teams try to be competitive for the rest off the season. WE need to be perfect with 2 victory points the rest of the way just to have a chance for the playoffs. That's why the trade was made.

so if i pick a bunch of shitty and injured players
can you and i do a draft in order to set up a trade? that would satisfy the criteria for a balanced trade, right?

    ...And I gave it.

SO let me ask for one. Why is this trade unfair?

    Hermit...
You are acting like these three players will never play again. That is not the case as each of those player are on a week to week status:

RB DeAngelo Williams - High Ankle Sprain

RB Toby Gerhart - Foot Sprain (He was scheduled return as starter last week, but reinjured the foot in practice last Wednesday. After Robinsons game yesterday his value may be near zero, but that happened AFTER we made the trade and we should not be held accountable for that.)

WR Harry Douglas - Deep Bruise on his foot.

As you can see NONE of those injuries are season ending nor serious. Shawn was willing to take the risk that these guys will have value for the rest of the season in order to improve two starting positions:

TE Dwayne Allen improved from Coby Fleener
WR DeSean Jackson improved from Greg Jennings

I was willing to give my Number 1 receiver and my backup TE (that was out performing Vernon Davis and should have been starting) in order to improve my RBs.

You are looking at this short term, one week, he and I made it with long term in mind. We are just doing what we should be doing as owners, attempting to make our team as competitive as possible for the rest of the season (and for both us this season that has been a real challenge with 4 VP combined...lol).

If you take an objective look at this trade with a long-term thinking, it is a fair trade that should stand.

    By this I mean...
...the trade with Shawn and I. Just want to make sure we are good. I have held off making other moves until I know.

Seriously commish - where's my VP
Don't you get 1/2 VP for a tie if both HC lose?
