as they say, even a blind squirrel...
here's the idea: the next time that we do a divisional realignment, in about 4 years or so, we base it on the following:
1) for the X preceeding years, every team earns a "power score." this could be as simple as your final positional standing, or your YTD total points, or a combination etc.
2) when the time comes for realignment, the WORST four teams would all become captains.
3) the four division "captains" would name their new divisions.
4) on Draft day weekend, the four "captains" all run a draft where they pick the teams in each of their divisions.
5) tada, bitches!

Here's an idea

How about a draft board that shows where people are designating rookies? It could even come out every year! |

A draft of division-mates? That is Ragnarok brilliance to me.

Not to mention, a brand new opportunity for some good old-fashioned shit-talking. I'm intrigued. |

Hmm...

I would prefer it be set on W/L records, as YTD is rarely correct for players or owners. |

your YTD is not correct? Arther Anderson would not approve!

my YTD's are pretty accurate. so are other squeaky wheels. i like squeaky wheels.
i think a hybrid approach of W-L and overall scoring may be a good way to approximate overall rankings? or, of course, we could just keep our caveman philosophies and club each other with Wins. seriously.
and as far as who gets to be the division leaders and draft their division mates, it could be either the best or the worst teams in those said rankings. |
