When I woke up this morning, I wasn't expecting to see that a FA had been processed. |

Wait, what?!

Was this new FA change discussed at any point? It's a huge change, one that I very much don't like. |

Don't like the new FA rule
Like Billy said, it apparently wasn't discussed with everyone, and it seems like this is the exact kind of rule that we discuss and vote on during draft weekend (and even if we implement it, the norm has been to do so for the next season, right?).
Also--and this is just my personal opinion--I just don't like the change. I think it dilutes from the competitive fun of 2 FA periods (which I think are timed perfectly), and perhaps most importantly, it puts the owners who don't have daily/convenient internet access at a disadvantage. I'm probably missing other reasons (and I'm sure I'm missing reasons why this would be a positive change; I just don't see why it should be this year, and without league-wide discussion).
Not meant to be a rant at all, but just to get all my thoughts in one message. If this is put to a vote and the majority disagrees with me I'd be 100% fine with changing it. |

Koofucious nailed it - lots of reasons to not rush into a FA change

Sean hit the main concerns, and they're enough to warrant some degree of conversation amongst the owners before implementing such a change. I'm not even sure the majority of league knows this new rule exists, and it's already operating. |

Here's my take on the new rule
I'm not really for it. Along with Sean's concerns, I just don't know how much we really need more FA sessions.
I'm fine with Mike getting his FA from last night. That was actually posted on the site and people probably didn't realize that there had been a change because they weren't looking for it. The fact that another session was processed while this is still being discussed (just 12 hours after the last session was processed) seems a little wrong.

Also not a fan.

I would have liked for this to have been presented during draft week-end so we could have discussed it. This is a huge change, and not one I think should have been nonchalantly rammed down our collective throats. |

Also...

Players started in last nights game point are being added or subtracted to last weeks scores as well. Check you scores from last week, make sure they are correct. Use the "report stat error" at the bottom for fixes. |

Free Agency Resolution...
So it looks like we're back to the previous free agency schedule? I say this tentatively b/c while there was no official announcement, the additional FA sessions were canceled.
However, do we have a decision regarding the two players picked up during the two free agency sessions most the the league didn't know about? That would be Amendola (steely-danzig) and the Packers' D/ST (Gamblers). Ideally this would be resolved before this morning's FA session.
My personal vote would be that both be put back into the FA pool as I don't think the league was given a fair shot at picking them up. That said, I don't think it's a huge deal either way. |

you guys are so cool. any other league and i'd be eating a shitstorm sandwich.
i apologize for not covering this idea before we started the Draft, and i did underestimate the sloppy implementation on my behalf.
we'll go back to the old way of Wednesday night Free Agency and Sunday morning FA. i also added a second Sunday morning FA this season to serve as the ultimate failsafe for teams scrambling to get starters for the given week. but we'll have no FA from Thurs-Sat.
i do like the idea of a FA each day between Wed-Sun, because we're still going to have a big Wednesday FA showdown and then after that we would be giving everyone ample opportunity to work the FA wire before their Sunday games. it's all about fielding competitive teams, and this seems like a way to support that ideal. |
