| So I paid (on May 2nd) as I watch a Fracking marathon of Battlestar Gallactica -- don't frackin make fun -- and see Factor is officially out. We go to 11. (in bad british dialect). Seriously we have to find TWO new owners?! Not to mention the newly popped guy? That's a fourth of us!!!! I got one nomination. But let me ask him first... Any other ideas? Cause I know we all know guys who want in, but it seems that psychology is not working. a vote? a quarum? So say we all? Frackin hell! |

if you don't mind, pass on your experiences to the other owners and then we can figure out what to do about dues. unfortunately, some of us have already paid our 2012 dues via LS and so i'm not sure what the possibilities are for backing out (i'm sure those exist, though). in addition, if we decide to not use LS then someone needs to come up with an alternative plan.
whatever solution we ultimately arrive at in regards to dues, someone else besides me will have to handle the money. I iz done with that shizzle.
it's already the middle of May, so in the words of Junior Buffer, "It's TIME!" It's time to nail down dues plans, rules modifications, and of course the regulatory affirmations of ownership renewals. speaking of which, since the Vikes got their stadium then i think Dave's sanity is preserved and we should have 100% re-ups?

Ok here is what I experienced with LeagueSafe. I opted to have them send me a debit card instead of paying $5 for them to deposit my winnings into my bank account. It took almost two weeks for the card to get here. The information included with the card said that it would work just like any Visa debit card, and that I could also draw funds from it at my bank's atm. Ok fine. So I am uptown the next day, and I try to use the card at Walgreen's. It is denied. I tried to use it at TJ's Beverage. Again, denied. So I go to my bank and attempt to draw the balance out. No luck. After several other frustrating attempts, it finally works at one place, Run-In Jim's, the most expensive place to buy beer in CH. When I got home, I was fucking pissed. So I call their customer service line. After waiting for 20 minutes I finally get some yahoo. I explain what happened. He tells me that the information I was mailed wasn't accurate, and that that was 2010's info. I asked why they are mailing outdated information. He had no clue. I asked to speak to his supervisor. The idiot tells me the supervisor has already left for the day, but if I gim him my number, the guy will call me the next day. Ok great. I had to work the next day, but Alicia was home all day and no-one called. I got home at called them again. Another 20 minute wait. I get a different dipshit. I ask to speak to a supervisor. I am told to leave my number and they will get RIGHT back to me. Two hours later and no call. By this point I am beyond pissed and just couldn't deal with it. So I used most of the card buying beer at Run-In Jim's, the only place in town where the card would work. I got down to where I figured I only had a little bit left. I called the number that let's you check the balance. I was told it had $2 and change left. Ok, so I figured I'd use it and some cash to get a 12-pack. Sadly, when I tried to use it, the clerk at RUJ's says it was declined due to insufficient funds. When I got home I again checked the balance and again it says I have $2 and change. To this day I can't use the rest of those funds, and have never gotten a straight answer from LeagueSafe as to why all of this is happening.
So the choice, if we use LeagueSafe again, is to either give them $5 of our winnings to make a simple electronic transfer or wait two weeks for a debit card that isn't honored anywhere. I don't like either of those choices, and I am not paying them to get my own damn money back. |

but a few of us has paid already.I kept getting the daily "you owe Ragnarok" emails, so I did. I'm not going to flag down someone at Leaguesafe to get my money back. (That sounded like a pain in the ass.)Anyway, some have paid, some have not. Unless it can somehow be withdrawn all together as a Ragnarok cancellation, and not understanding completely the downfall of a site that as of last year seemed to be a solution to our dark history of $$$ tracking, if there be a vote, I say we use it this season until we can find something else. It won't work to have half the league in Leaguesafe and the other half in someone's lockbox under their bed, right? We have a few big fish to fry: new owner(s)?, rules, $$$, Tebow, etc. Kent's experience sucked, but maybe it's merely a cautionary tale, to eat $5 for electronic deposit rather than shame and embarrassment in buying a 12 pack with a $2 debit card and some change...
So say we all?

with zack. I will front kent the 5 dollars at the end of this season if he finishes in the money. That was a lot of hoops to jump through for kent and I feel for him, getting nickel and dimmed is what we all hate about this shit. but with people having already paid, it seams prudent to stick with the leaguesafe for THIS year and then talk about other solutions during the draft. Now, as far as owners go, what are you gonna do Dave? I want you to be apart of Ragnarok, and i suspect everyone else does as well.
on to the money stuffs... July 1 deadline to pay, with July 8 being the last possible day to pay. Miss it and that would constitute 3 strikes. I will personally will send emails and calls to everybody to remind them... no excuses. I do have 2 people who want in to the league, they share the same core values as we do( football, beer, football).
Finally, i think we all need to agree that Koo is a jerk. He HAS TO finish last this year and that should be EVERYONE'S priority drring the draft. Thoughts??? |

It's all the same in the end anyway, right? I'm happy to compensate Kent for Leaguesafe emotional damages and mental trauma on draft weekend--if he can remember his poker seat the whole night.
It's going to suck to finish last this year.

It truly sucks to deal with so much hassle, and I feel bad for Kent that he had any of the fun of Ragnarok taken from him because of LeagueSafe. I'm all for finding an alternative to them after this season. F those guys.
OK, that's enough consensus for this league. I'd like to start discussing defensive scoring again. Made for better arguments.

Here's a possible solution to multiple issues
|

| Seeing as Kent is willing to accept beer as compensation for his LeagueSafe issues - I propose that we supply Kent with plenty of beer and Sean has to keep up with Kent's beer consumption on draft day. Kent will be happy, Sean will be happy (who wouldn't be with that much beer inside them), Billy will be happy...we'll all be happy. It'll be a win/win situation all around. |

if we decide that we want to go with a different solution, a preliminary look implied that we could still cancel the 2012 league in LeagueSafe and those that have already paid would get refunded.
i'm game for anything, as long as i don't have to deal with it anymore. we're getting really close to the season, so if anyone has some suggestions let's git 'em out on the table? |

We all go to a bank in Mebane on Saturday. We open an account that we all sign for, with a "password" or acct. # and we make our deposit (electronically or old fashioned) into that account on our own terms. Is that too easy? The bank keeps all the records, so we'd know who/if anyone was withdrawing or depositing, and how much? Heck, it could be there if anyone wanted to pad it throughout the year: birthday $, raise, lottery winnings, whatever. I'm no financial wiz and this may be impossible to do. But it sounds great!
