Scoring and playoffs
Why is it -2 for an int and -1 for a fumble? Also shouldn't a FG be 3 for 0-39, 4 for 40-49, and 5 for 50+?
Are we going with 4 teams for playoffs? 2 division winners and 2 wild cards with weeks 14&15 playoffs? |

comes great responsibility. QB's are held more accountable for bad decisions (the rare hail mary interception aside), whereas a fumble is usually not related to decision making.
we nerfed Kickers because, well, they are Kickers. with a score of 3-5 points for every FG, kickers end up with more points than many top 10 RB's and WR's. and that just ain't right.
regarding the playoffs, since we have 10 teams we'll go with top 4 teams making the playoffs (if/when we expand to 12 teams next year, we'll expand that to six teams and a playoff bye week). also, we will are set to have a perfect symmetrical regular season schedule that lasts 13 weeks, and so yes the playoffs will be in weeks 14 and 15.
if we insrt one more additional week of regular season play and expand the regular season to weeks 1-14 and the playoffs to weeks 15-16, then we'll have an assymmetrical schedule and everyone will be facing a random non-division rival twice. i'm not necessarily opposed to that concept, because the Early Men are so awesome, but it may suck for the team that has to play me an extra time and get two big L's as a result. |

Make it so. Except this concept of "symmetrical schedule" Bull shit. How can depriving ones self of an extra week for Fantasy Football and all of it's pleasures make anyone feel better? There is no logic to it. So what if Pinca Chu little fellas lose twice to the same non-conference team? this is football and there is no crying! |

i like the sound of 14-0 more than 13-0. bow to the Early Men. |

Playoffs
Have we decided how the playoffs are determined since we have 10 teams?
Is it top 2 in each division?
Playoffs seeds based upon record or does each division play each other (like AFC/NFC...yes, that is a conference but for reference)?
Weeks 14&15?

Playoffs

I see that rules were posted, sounds like based upon an 8 team league (4 teams not making the playoffs) but I guess it is the same thing, 2 wild cards and 6 don't make the playoffs.
Cool. |

yep, four teams make the playoffs
the two division winners get homefield advantage in the first week of the playoffs, and the two wildcard teams are the next two best teams who did not win their division (we could have three teams from one division, for example). ranking is based primarily on victory points, then w-l, then ytd points by starters.
regarding the playoffs schedule, that's based on when we end our regular season. before the season began we had bantered about adding one more week to the regular season, but never resolved that discussion. it's not too late to revisit it.
i'll put up a ballot box where we can vote on adding one more week to the regular season (this new week would be insrted into the middle of the season). that would put the regular season in weeks 1-14, then the playoffs in weeks 15-16. the losers would play in a toilet bowl tournament in weeks 15-17 (tsk).
the advantage of adding one more week to the regular season is self-evident. the cost of this is that we will no longer have a symmetrical schedule where we play all division rivals twice and all non-division rivals once. that additional week would be random, so every team would face a random non-divisional foe twice. |

looks like the schedule ballots are in

and the majority doesn't want to add a week and create an asymmetrical schedule for this year. we'll stick with the 13 week regular season and for 2011 the winner playoffs will take place in weeks 14 and 15.
next season we'll probably expand to 12 teams and the result will be a nice and tidy 14 week regular schedule. |
