Why can't I sub out Gates for McMichael?

Gates isn't playing tonight, why won't it let me switch him out?
I can uncheck his name but there is no button to set the lineup. |

and that was the intentional design when this was first put together, but at some point either this season or before 2011 this approach will be changed to allow legal lineup changes after 1pm on Sundays. in the meantime, I swapped out Gates for McMichael for last night's game.
just an aside, the thinking behind this approach was that by allowing lineup changes before the 4pm or weekly night games, we could be giving an unfair advantage to teams - based on their week's game in progress, teams can then decide to either play it safe or go for broke. however, I think that concern was over thought, and there are many other arguments that support a more flexible coaching approach (injuries are really the driving force behind lineup changes). and so that's something we can look forward to in 2011, and until then I'm happy to support any lineup changes that are made and datestamped on the Midgard forum. |
