    Tonight's conspiracy theory >>>Vikings Football
In order for Childress to keep his job. T-Jack has to be traded or release. This will allow Childress to be off of the hook for any thing that happens.
If he is traded, and Jackson has a great year, then Childress looks like a genius. He can say that he recognized the talent early, and mentored him up from a raw Division II rookie to a NLF caliber QB. Releasing him was a business decision. After all how can you say no to a future HOFer.
Again, Childress is off of the hook for any thing that happens. If he is traded and fails. Then it is not under his coaching system and therefor not his fault.
If he stays, then he will only be seen if his purple savior, (aka. Judas or #4) goes down. If that happen he won't be blamed, because It will be the fault of Farve injury and not having the time to commit to mentoring Jackson full time.
If he stays and succeeds then he will look like a Jack-ass for bringing in #4. Caving in to pressure from the media, and not trusting in he instincts that he should have. For this to happen, is 1 in 4 chance at best. Considering Purple Judas's 175 straight starts and Jackson's inconsistencies The odds are much lower than that.
    Consider the T-Jack experiment ...over.

    Judas Saves
i considered the T-Jack experiment to be an objective failure; even after a few years he would show some rare flashes and then consistently make some Sage Rosenfels-like decisions. oh crap, we now have Sage too...

Gustafson had a valid point, i think, when he said that "now we'll know what the deal is" regarding the passing game and the wide receivers. i've felt for a couple of years now that they are underrated and that we just didn't have a QB good enough to read defenses and grab all the juicy fruit that is the result of having the best RB in the league. no one ever had to game plan for real play action and the passing game. the Vikes have a great DF and perhaps the top running game going, and yet can't seem to get that train moving.

now, should they have gone after Cutler or Cassel instead? that's a fair discussion... they easily could have been privately pursuing them and the public was not privy - those things are often kept secret in order to keep other teams from jumping in.

so am i happy Favre is in Minnesota? hell f'n yeah! i've already got my ticket for the Oct 5. Monday Night Vikings vs Packers game.

and i'm picking Sidney Rice in the 3rd. ok, maybe not. but i am going to that game.

will Favre still be with the Vikings come October 5th?
It's possible. I hope so, for Keith's sake given that he'll be at the game (which is awesome, by the way).

But equally possible are the following scenarios for Favre:
    1) He's injured
    2) He's dead
    3) He retired.. again...
    4) Only to sign with the Bears
    5) Only to retire.. again
    6) Only to sign with the Redskins

All by October 5th. Hey--it could happen.
