Free Agency
|
|
|
|
It looks like there was a little glitch with free agency. Two teams (Pollution and Taz Devils) each show two players picked up and the same player being cut for each pickup. Pierre Thomas was cut twice for the Pollution and Michael Bush was cut twice for the Taz Devils. |

Free Agency

I dropped one of my pick-ups.We need the site to just pick up one when we put in for two. With only being able to bid twice a week we need to be able to put in for more then one pick-up in case you don;t get that one then you could be left with no one to play. |

actually, all bids have to jive

thanks for waiving that extra player, Taz. Pollution, would you mind waiving your extra player, too?
as for having the website only pick up 1 player if you bid for 2 players, that isn't the way free agency works - you do have to plan for all of your bids to be successful. |

Left Out

Ok I have a defense on bye and want to pick one up and I only need one so I put in for only one and don;t get them. Then I;m out a defense for the week.I can;t understand why it would work that way .I;ve never seen it like that in any other league. |

you have to outbid your competitors

i'm not sure how a bidding system would make sense if you end up getting players as a result of not bidding higher than other teams?
and if you do get outbid and don't sign anyone, there is a second free agency session on sunday morning where you can pick someone up.
one thing that is on the drawing board for 2009 is a hybrid approach, where our same bidding session would take place on Wednesday nights, and then after that it becomes a simple "first come first serve" realtime/anytime waiver system until Sunday's kickoff (there would not be a second bidding session like we currently have). that's got the best of all worlds, and also guarantees that any team would be able to at least easily fill their starting lineup with scrubs.

I like that idea for next year.I didn;t mean you get a player that someone bid higher just if you put in for like three and only had one player to drop that it would take the top one you got and that would be it.Thanks for explaining and I can live with the way it is this year. |
