i'm going to voice my opinion

|
i mean no disrespect to anyone. if you voted for W, i got no problem with that. this isn't about that. this is about the total lack of awareness or outburst over something that is the scariest thing i've seen in my lifetime.
everyone should be loyal to principles and not people or parties, so i don't understand how my post is even remotely controversial unless people can't get past the "my team" and "their team" and a win-at-all-costs mentality. this is about "our team" and nothing else.
i'd have posted the exact same post if the Democrats had done the same things. THIS IS NOT ABOUT POLITICAL VIEWPOINTS.
if you don't like what i'm saying, then either refute it (off of this board is fine) or ignore me and let this message thread die out. but i'm damn tired of feeling painted as an unpatriotic wacko and that i need to crawl into a hole and not talk about what could be the final nail in democracy's coffin.
regardless of political affiliation or philosophical viewpoints, all Americans should consider the role of a free and accurate election process to be the cornerstone of everything we stand for. and when it is clear that such did not happen, everything else is a lie. including the Skullsplitters.

| but don't change the subject. ignoring the post serves the same purpose of disagreeing with the subjectmatter. but don't change the subject of a post with a response. if your sick to your stomach about hearing about politics or don't agree with somones just let it die. that's how you get back to football on the board.now as for each and everyone of you conspiring to make me lose this year, i'm on to you. it's a travisty of the game and "unamerican"( my new favorite put-down):) |

i find it ridiculous that people are so intolerant of dissenting viewpoints, especially those that aren't toeing the "right" line.
what ever happened to being able to agree to disagree? one of my best friends has diametrically opposing viewpoints, and that doesn't lead me to saying that i'm not going to spend any time with him or that i won't respect him. just like your having a difference of opinion isn't going to lessen my respect for you in any way. never has.
but if you find my post so threatening to your world viewpoint that you can't be around me or my opinion, then go to your glass house, turn on Fox News, and pretend that everything i said and cited had no basis in reality.
i'm going to say this again: THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE, IT IS A DEMOCRACY ISSUE. anyone offended by my pointing out that our democracy is seriously undermined is missing the point entirely. how can that be found to be offensive??
i'm damn tired of how nasty and intolerant people are towards other people's opinions. everyone is just supposed to shut up and be quiet if there is any dissent. last i checked, this is America.
if my 8 years of running this site and the respectful way that i've treated it and everyone involved is all washed away because this one day you don't like me talking about something that i consider terrifying (and something i've backed up with 100's of pages of documentation, not mere opinion), then frankly i would suggest spending some time thinking about your choices in how to approach this.
when i used to go to Draftsharks for football information, they'd inject all kinds of political viewpoints into their text, and even if i disagreed i had no problem with their expressing of opinion. what i did today wasn't even a political viewpoint but only a pointing out of some critical information that bothers me to my core and should bother every patriotic American as well.
as usual, the intolerance is expressed and there is no addressing as to the actual content of the issue at hand. if i'm wrong, show me. if i'm onto something, then everyone should be afraid about what happened to our great country. but to say that you won't come around anymore is a reflection of the ignorance and intolerance that has gripped our country, and i'm not going to lose any sleep over it. that's your choice to make, and your colors to show.
