Realignment (2007 proposed new rule)

|
We will realign the league and there will now be four divisions of three teams each. This will also reduce the regular season schedule by one week, so the final regular week will be Week 13 and the championship game will be played in Week 16 instead of 17.
Division membership will be randomly drawn at the 2007 draft party, and division names will be decided upon by the members of each division (drawn from a common list of agreed upon names).
Everyone is encouraged to contribute their suggestions for division names - please post them to this thread. As we draw closer to the Draft, we'll finalize the list (everyone will agree on the list of candidate names). |

everyone is encouraged to submit ideas for eligible division names. we'll all collaborate on a master list of names that we all agree upon, and after divisions are randomly drawn on draft day then each division can select their division name from the central list. we're using a central list (as opposed to just free form) so that all of us approve of the flavor of the league. for example, if someone proposes Landry as a division name, chances are most of us will reject it because we have taste and hate the Cowgirls. well, except the sellouts, that is. you know who you are....
here are some initial nominations that i'd like to add to the list:

Using the last five years (the first five are not in the current database and could probably be discounted in any case), the following winning percentages are used to divide the owners into three groups (1-4, 5-8, 9-12) which will be used to seed the divisions when we re-align:

| How about naming divisions after great coaches: Lombardi, Shula, Walsh, and Noll. Or maybe NFL owners: Mara, Hunt, Rooney, and Halas. I'd love to use four former fantasy terrors, but i can only come up with Rice, Sanders, and Faulk so far. If Holmes hadn't come back i'd have suggested him. |

| Not on the site anyway. Has anyone talked with these owners before yesterday? Did we come to a consensus on any penalty? Technically if they haven't been checking the site, or owners, they are WAY late 'cause as far as they know, the deadline was still the 15th... |
