Will having a new owner affect the weighted divisions?
|

| Will the new owner take Scott's place in Midgard or will this person have to start at the bottom of Hel? Will the new owner only have one year's worth of stats when calculating next year's divisions? |

| I'm in favor of starting whomever off as the bottom team in hel. However if we use the calculator should we use the franchise # of points and wins or the teams totals. |

My first thought was that the new owner simply takes Scott's open slot in the Midgard division.
But what are everyone's thoughts? Should the n00b have the lowest division and easiest schedule in Hel, or should they start out wherever the previous owner left off?

...is leave Two Straws there. It doesn't upset the whole cart. If you move that team to the bottom and another moves up (Asgard to Midgard?) doesn't that cause more waves in the realignment process than just leaving everyone else on the paths they have earned/landed on? We often go back to trying to follow the actual NFL as closely as we can. When teams get new coaches, they aren't moved to the bottom of the draft.
Slot him in and let's move on. It shouldn't be punitive to join the league.

I don't have any issue with the Tommy just assuming Scott's position. But I do really like the idea of having to work your way up through the system. He'll have to prove that he's worthy of rising out of Hel.
What I think may be the bigger issue is how will Tommy's ranking be calculated at the end of this season? He will only have one season's worth of stats to compare with everyone else's two seasons when calculating next season's rankings. That would most likely place him in Hel for next season.
It kind of feels like starting off in Hel for a season or two might be part of the initiation into the league moving forward. Any new owner would have to prove, through performance, that he doesn't belong there. I don't really see this as being punitive, it's more of just starting with a blank slate. |

Don't fight me on this, but this seems to be a natural and perfect time to reset everyone. Since we blanked last year as official stats, we all start as if this is "year zero" and we all move in sync moving forward. Then we ALL end the season with one year of stats. Is that nonsense? I'm not stats minded, and I'm thinking out loud. It's an opportunity for everyone to have an even shot to land in any division next year. Right?
That's bold. But it does affect all teams rather than just the lowly owners in Hel. Again, this may be too apocalyptic.
If you throw Tommy in Hel I wouldn't rage, either. It just fun to discuss. 69 days!
