I started the season in my usual 0-1 hole, and then after that it was a long road that had its share of good fortune. I'm sure that everyone wished that somewhere along the road I was robbed and murdered by thieves, but the football gods were certainly smiling upon me in 2017. After four weeks, I was the leader in Points Against and I still managed a 2-2 record at that point. I won so many games by the hair of my chinny chin chin and somehow managed to run off eight (8) straight Wins. That's, like, an Arrogant Arrogant Arrogant Mother Fucker post pad or something.
I only broke 100 points once in the regular season, yet still managed to be the third highest scoring team. I think that's what made my team strong - not too many duds, and an overall consistently credible score each week. While I was extremely nervous that the flipside of this would be that only one strong opponent's game in the playoffs would send me packing, it turns out that my team was the highest scorer each round. No "what-if" seeding scenarios would have mattered - all alternate universes were obliterated by Todd Gurley and his supporting cast.
Even so, as Remco Pardoel once said, "I did not expect to win." Thanks to all for a great season and I can't wait for the 2018 laser show!
And yes, I LOVE DUKE!
