    Home vs. Away
Keith, we are losing that thread regarding teams with 6 home games vs. teams with 7 home games. I vote that we keep it simple and award the 6-home-game teams 2 extra points at the end of the regular 13-game season. Probably will not make any difference, but we need to have the owner's agree on this before-hand just in case.

    Home vs. Away cont.
It seems that giving 2 extra points to the five 6-home-game teams at the end of the season is the easiest solution, but it doesn't sit right with me. i guess it's because 5 teams had the extra 2 points in a game situation, where it might help them win. Getting 2 points that only help in YTD points isn't really the same.

Instead, how difficult would it be to have the final home game played by the 5 7-home-game teams no longer be a home game but a neutral site game where no home field points are awarded to either team? that way, everyone has 6 home games, 6 away games, and one neutral game.

the five 7-homers and their 7th home game is as follows:

    Turkey Vultures (wk 11)
    Scandal (wk 12)
    Wiseguys (wk 13)
    Rogues (wk 13)
    Ducks (wk 13)

could these games just be neutral site games?

now there is a problem with this. in this scenario, the Blunts and the Slashers each play 2 neutral games, while the Bulldogs and Biskefas get no neutral games. part of this can be solved if the games that are played as neutral are:

    Turkey Vultures (wk 11)
    Scandal (wk 12)
    Wiseguys (wk 13)
    Rogues (wk 13)
    Ducks (wk 10)

in this scenario, only the Bulldogs miss out on the neutral game, and the Blunts get 2. one way to solve this disparity is to make tomorrow's Blunts v. Bulldogs game a neutral site game. this way, everyone but the Blunts has 6 home games, 6 away games and one neutral game. The Blunts have 5 home games, 5 away games and 3 neutral games. The Blunts could be awarded 2 extra points at the end of the season if necessary.

now i know this is a bit complex, but it should work. maybe it's not worth doing at this point, but i know if i had 1 fewer home game and lost as a result, i'd be pissed!

ps. Erik, if you noticed that the schedule says that you would only have 4 home games instead the five i mentioned, you're right. the problem is that the Blunts v. Slashers game in week 6 should have been Slashers v. Blunts, with the home field reversed. it doesn't change the outcome of the game (Blunts still win), but currently the Blunts will only get 5 home games and the Slashers 7, so that game's home field should be swapped.

    Home vs Away ...
    Jeremy,
Thanks for the great analysis. I am agreeable with the last scenario. How do we get this passed or rejected by game time tomorrow? Keith?

    I'm in Asheville this weekend
But will be online until around 11:30 AM, if we want to move on a decision before todays games.

I understand the concept that Jeremy outlined, and this would also accomodate our Week 14 schedule ideas. But I get a bit baffled when trying to cram it all into my tired brain. Is this idea better (fairer) than just having Week 14 be a matchup of 6-home teams @ 5-home teams? In that latter scenario, I wonder if that is good or bad - will we create any unfair scenarios with a "strong" team facing the same "weak team" 3 times?

I subscribe to the mantra "Simple is Good" and in this case I tend to like the 6-home @ 5-home for Week 14. If everyone thinks Jeremy's idea is more fair, please chime in and maybe we can get this in place for this week.
