I'm starting to see some reputable sources suggesting we were hasty in banishing Peterson. Take this TV op/ed piece for instance:

12 men, 12 different responses

I think this may be an interesting forum for us as men to discuss a very interesting topic. One day my father and I were driving down a country road. As we passed this old farmstead, where it was commonly known that the father abused his children, sexually and physically . I turned and said to him "I'd like to think if that was happening today I'd do something about it." What this man did was extreme and I'm not sure has any relevance to this conversation. When I was a young boy even into my adolescent years, my father used corporal punishment, "The dreaded Big Black Belt ". Did my actions deserve this response? Maybe, Did I have marks weeks later? No. Did I resent my father Yes, and we have talked about this later in life? Later when I became a father did I spank? Yes, once. It was a physical punishment in response to a physical action at a time in which I didn't feel an admonition would be understood. She was four years old. I modified what did not work for me to hopefully correct the future action of my daughter. I do have to admit, sometimes I see children misbehaving, being bullies, etc, and I say to myself, "If that were my child he'd get a spanking". Now for my daily dose of hypocrisy, If anyone told me how to raise my child, I'm quite sure my response would be for them to mind their own business. If my four year old son did the things that Peterson's son did I would have spanked him. Peterson uses a switch, my father used a belt and I used a hand. Is there a difference?.... However when I read about Peterson's child abuse case this spring, I was very surprised, because this was so close to Peterson's own child being killed after being beaten by another man. |

Very thoughtful post, Dave. Complicating matters further, ADP is back this Sunday. Looks like the Vikings have changed their mind. Still lost to the no-man zone? |

RB vs RB

AP is giving Willis McGee a run for his money in kids with different mother's. Might be challenging Shawn Kemp. Anyways, hand on a toush is one thing. A stick on a 4 year olds genitals is another. Overall, none my business. Just remember, there is no freedom. |

First, I love the new stats. That could be because I'm half-Asian--throw any numbers in front of me and I'll start drooling.
Second, my team WAS pathetic in week 1, no doubt. 59 points is fucking dismal (though 4 teams were somehow even worse in week 1), and getting shit-canned by Joe was even worse.
Lastly--the numbers are a bit misleading for week 1, as there was no "choice" to be made in starting Packers or Seahawks (who weren't already franchised) as we couldn't start them anyway. That lowers my number to -13--which is still dead fucking last, and 100% due to starting the Bears D/ST over the 49ers. THAT was a dumb, fucking move--but it does make me feel slightly better because trying to pick the right D/ST is like flipping a coin.
You know what else makes me feel slightly better? Four Titles. |

I love, love, love this new system. So fucking cool! Plus, anything that puts Koo in last place is a welcome change. But I fear that may be me in last place pretty soon... |

These analytics only work if you have one back up for each position you start. Otherwise its useless. If I have all HCs on my bench, I'd be the greatest coach of all time by those fail-lytics |
