Ragnarok Draft Needs PC!

Does anyone have an old gerbil-powered PC tower or laptop that they could bring to the draft weekend? We will need it for running the draft board and more importantly for connecting with Zach via Skype.
My old hamster-powered PC tower finally melted down. I tried to get my Mac Mini set up with Skype and with my usb HD webcam, but I discovered that the camera does not work on Macs. Damn, what do I pay you for, camera?!
Anyways, it's a good HD camera and will work on any Windows PC. And so the only requirements for a computer would be that it is a PC of some type, and that it has WiFi. |

2013 Draft Schedule

we're going to flip the script a little, since it turns out that Zach's thingy is during the daytime on Saturday and not at night. ergo, if it's cool with everyone then we'll start Part Deaux of the draft at 4pm-ish on Saturday (instead of mid-morning).
Joe, if you don't have an easy set of speakers handy, lemme know and i think i can dig up a pair. of speakers, that is. |

| I will not be able to get to the rental place this week to get a podium. I can bring a mic with a cord that fits the little amp that keith has. Can you fit that in the car keith? Or if you got time to get the podium koo. Let me know |

factoring in... oh wait i hate that word "factor", so let me start over.
considering that it costs $30 or more each year (and who know how much now that we have a 4 day bash), plus the pain in the ass to pick it up and drop it off, maybe we should do our own podium starting this year?
i have that little amp, and Billy has a mic, so the only things remaining would be a mic stand of some sort, plus a lectern. for the lectern, me and the Minnesota Boyz could build one on Wednesday, or i could buy one on amazon and overnight it for a Wednesday delivery.
as crazy as this sounds, i'm kind of leaning towards making a lectern because it would be a fraction of the cost of buying one online. it's basically just four boards and then i'd also make it where it would be collapsible so that it could be efficiently stored and transported. or, i might just say Fuck It and buy one and not deal with the few hours of work.
regardless of the lectern method, how about if we have this approach for a podium going forward? i'll bring a lectern and an amp, and Billy can bring the mic. |

podium followup

so i spent a bunch of time tonight looking at a) trying to buy a folding podium, b) coming up with a design for a folding podium, with a plan for building it on Wednesday, and c) thinking about some poor man's McGyver attempt using a crate and some scrap wood.
all in all, i think we should aspire for having our own league lectern starting in 2014 and i'll be totally happy to build a nice folding wooden one for use with starting next season. this 2013 season, though, is here and there really isn't much time left.
and so would anyone be willing and able to pick up a rental lectern/podium and return it? i doubt that i'd be able to fit it in my car, as there are already three of us traveling together and so we'll have all of our stuff and a bunch of groceries packing it to the gills.
if someone can do the podium, Billy knows the details in terms of where to go. i think it was in Durham. if this is doable by someone, then we should call immediately and reserve it. |

Linda was nice enough to say that we can arrive at 3pm and not have to wait until 4pm to enter. |
