Championships come and go...
|

but what really matters in fantasy football is outscoring not just every other team, but every other matchup BY YOURSELF in week 15. That's the true measure of fantasy football greatness. Take it from someone who knows.
Good luck to the Hitmen and Dynasty. May you both suck it. |

It is what it is....

My motto all year. I can suck it in the toilet bowl for the second year in a row... based on a coaches point. That decision is a true microcosm of my whole cursed season.
Yea! Double picks again!
GO WILL! |

Dynasty have a busy week
|
|
|
|
Right now the schedule shows that they play both the Hitmen and the Thunder this weekend.
I guess the curse of having Cowgirls on my team is that I should play them. I'd have won if I had played Romo and Crayton (actually I just needed Crayton over Toomer and the Jets D scoring errors corrected).

The Dynasty would like to thank the following people...
|
|
|
|
...on the day after successfully defending the vaunted Ragnarok title (as an aside, I'm glad we never went with that idea of having the previous season's winner present the championship jacket/t-shirt to the new winner, as it would be awkward for myself to present to....myself):
*Will Bailey: on a season well-played and a team that peaked at just the right time to drive him to the title game.
*Will Bailey: for--despite a W-L record far better than anyone else during his years with Peyton Manning as his keeper--deciding to keep Brian Westbrook this season, allowing me to draft the stud QB I needed to lead my team to the promised land.
*Michael "Burner" Turner: for a truly dominant season. Burner, don't bother cleaning out your locker.
*My fellow Ragnarok GMs: for drafting the way you did and managing your teams the way you do. After all: it's responsible for me winning for two straight years. Keep it up!
OK--on a genuine note, I have to say that even end result aside, this was still the best season of Ragnarok to date, in my opinion. The usual high level of league activity, an insanely competitive season with every team in it almost until the end--the only way we could improve anything for next year is a perfect attendance at the 2009 draft.
The mere fact that I get so much enjoyment out of winning is merely testament to how much fucking fun this league is, and at the end of the day, a fantasy football league is only as fun as its owners make it.
I know there'll be no love lost for the Dynasty's attempt at an unprecedented threepeat, and odds of it happening are summed up by the classic quote from The Naked Gun: "Doctors say he has a fifty-fifty chance of living...though there's only a 10 percent chance of that." But I say this in all earnesty: there's no one better equipped to do it than me. :)
Let the countdown to Draft Weekend 2009 officially begin!

Congrats Koo, nice roster, good work this year. Four people now in the running for 3 titles. Now that I have mastered the losers bracket and operating a pathetic team I am prepared to move back into the winners bracket. I hope Rich Gannon comes out of retirement. |

for another great season, well commished! Congrats to Koo for another championship, well done. Also, thanks to Koo for another wonderful victory speech. There's a fine line between comedy and sounding like a pompous ass :)
All kidding aside, I look forward to next season. Happy Holiday's to all and see you in '09!! |
