Of course the first season I've got decent running backs, they both go out injured in the 1st half on the same week. Typical!
Also, because I was a bonehead and forgot to play my new kicker that scored 18 points this week (18!), Jax, I'm going to need your defense to score enough points tonight so that I couldn't have won even if I had played my kicker. Thank you.

Really looking forward to draft day! 11:30 works, but I second the idea of maybe starting the draft a little bit earlier than 2? I'm up for whatever works, and looking forward to some pool time, but I know it can take us awhile to get through the draft, so it would be great to not feel rushed!

Hi Ladies,
Wow, are we really finished with the season? Did Sally just whip our butts again? (Crazy Dynasty Girl). Congrats!
But, I'm also confused with how the playoffs happened this year. I realize in my lowly spot in the standings, it didn't matter, but just want to be sure I understand how it all works.
In week 14, I played Hairboro in the Losers Bracket, but then in week 15, I was the only team that didn't play at all? (Dirty Enforcers played themselves). And I remember the site was sort of funky that week, so maybe that is what happened. And then the losers bracket didn't have any games in week 16..and I think I remember last year we played until week 16. Not a big deal, but I love my fantasy football, so want to get all the playing I can out of it!
Just want to be sure I get it all so that next I can finally triumph to overthrow the dynasties of the girl football world!

Hey all,
Not that anyone is asking, but as I'm thinking about it, thought I would get a jump-start on the off-season banter on the free agency thingie:
1. completely agree that it should be an off-season decision. I get your point Jax on setting up your roster to weather injuries, but since none (or most or some) of us went through the season thinking that way, we may not have strategized for it. (my sad team was a week to week free agent situation).
2. limiting the time for free agency definitely would change strategy. Right now, if I get far enough into the season with a good kicker, and get past his bye week, I may dump my second kicker in order to gain another WR. My strategy might be different if I knew that at some point I couldn't pick up another kicker if mine got injured.
3. lastly, I realize this is Fantasy Football and not real football, but I think I'm right in thinking that in real football, teams can pick up players whenever they need them (ahem, I'm looking at you Carolina and your stay-at-home-dad-QB), and so we should just think about why we want to limit it.
4. also agree that we shouldn't make injury exceptions if we go, next season, with shutting down free agency at some point.

hey jax,
i free agencied back ricky williams on the 5th (cutting fred taylor) and then it looks like the free agency system picked him up again for me on the 6th. so then i had him twice on my roster. i waived one ricky, and kept one ricky.
just wanted to be sure he doesn't show up as available to pick up. if that makes sense. :)

3. you're hilarious and i love your list
4. is it bad that i find myself sort of routing against my bench players doing well when i'm not playing them just so i don't have to go through the torture of knowing i should have played them? (which my bench players have done to me every week so far)
5. game of the week is like being on monday night football. you're boys were just a little overwhelmed by the spotlight. next week it will be old hat to them
6. no sinking feelings allowed after 1 loss. you're like the colts. (hmm, does that make the flea flickers the bears or the chiefs? or the steelers, really?!) meanwhile, i'm feeling some serious solidarity with the browns.

I'm trying to take out a player that is playing tonight's Thursday night game...I can uncheck his name, but then can't check mark another player to take his spot...should I just uncheck him and then be able to add another WR later?

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, Jax - Sims-Walker did not even play yesterday!!!!! They apparently scratched him for breaking a team rule right at game time. ARGH!

Last weekend was a lot of fun with this stuff, even though the Flickers sent my team running with our tails tucked. I'm going to say it was a learning-curve weekend!
